Dr. Christine Wisecarver is one of the nation’s most highly educated optometrists.  She earned her optometry degree, with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley and then went on to complete an additional one-year residency in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.  Fewer than 5% of optometrists nationwide have completed a residency program, and because of its affiliation with Johns Hopkins, the training at the Baltimore VA is considered to be one of the best in the country.  Dr. Wisecarver has extensive experience in surgical comanagement and is certified to use pharmaceutical agents to manage ocular diseases. Furthermore, Dr. Wisecarver brings a wealth of contact lens experience to our practice, including complex keratoconic and post-surgical fittings.

Dr. Wisecarver has participated in numerous research projects, authored peer- reviewed articles and has presented her research at many professional conferences.  She is an integral part of our clinical study team and also serves as an adjunct clinical instructor to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  Additionally, as a Rotation Site Director for the Ophthalmic Medical Technologist Program at Georgetown University, she trains students on all aspects of care including professionalism, ethics and clinical skills.
