Can you believe that 2021 is almost behind us? Although it’s been a year filled with challenges, there have been plenty of exciting new developments at See Clearly Vision.
We’ve faced every challenge, kept up-to-date with the latest technology and treatments, and even won a few awards for our top-quality eye care specialists! We couldn’t have done it without the support of our staff and patients, so we want to thank you for choosing our practice for your eye care needs.

Award-Winning Vision Care
At See Clearly Vision, we strive to always offer our patients the best eye care services available. We also have the best eye doctors and surgeons available to perform those services, from routine eye exams to cataract surgery.
This year, we had the distinction of being named in not one but three top doctor lists published by Arlington Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine, and the Washingtonian. These publications ask doctors in various fields to nominate their peers for the distinction of being a top doctor.
See Clearly Vision is honored to have the confidence of both our patients and fellow practitioners in the medical community. We were also named DC Washington’s Top Healthcare Professionals from Modern Luxury DC Magazine, listed alongside other “talented and dynamic” top medical professionals!
New Treatments for Glaucoma and Ptosis
This year, we’ve expanded our treatment options for some of the more common eye conditions, including glaucoma and ptosis. For glaucoma patients, we now offer Durysta.
Durysta is the only FDA-approved dissolvable implant for glaucoma. The implant dispenses medication slowly over several months to lower eye pressure.
While using Durysta, patients no longer need to use daily eye drops to manage their eye pressure. Keeping your eye pressure under control is vital in treating glaucoma and preserving your remaining vision. Durysta offers an alternative to eye drops that’s less invasive than other surgical options for patients with glaucoma that may struggle to remember to take eye drops as directed.
Ptosis is another common condition that causes the eyelids to droop. Having drooping or sagging eyelids can limit your visual field, making it harder to see and giving you a more tired appearance.
Traditionally, sagging eyelids are treated with surgery. But at See Clearly Vision, we are now offering our patients an alternative called Upneeq.
Upneeq is a medication dispensed in the form of daily eye drops that gradually lift your eyelids. By using Upneeq, you can treat your drooping eyelids in a non-invasive way before needing to resort to oculoplastic surgery.
These new options allow our patients a more comprehensive range of available medications and non-invasive treatments for common medical issues. We hope to continue helping patients better manage chronic conditions like glaucoma by offering the latest treatments and techniques whenever possible.
More IOL Offerings for Cataract Surgery
We want to provide our cataract patients with the best options available when it comes to cataract surgery. Before having cataract surgery, one of the biggest challenges is choosing an IOL.
An IOL, or intraocular lens, is an artificial lens used to replace the lens removed during cataract surgery. IOLs come in different varieties, and new kinds of premium IOLs come out all the time!
See Clearly Vision makes an effort to stay on top of the latest IOL technology and offerings. That’s why we are proud to now offer both the Eyhance IOL and Synergy IOL along with the rest of our premium IOL options.
The Synergy IOL provides patients with an extended range of focus for clear vision at any distance, including up-close, far away, and in between. The Eyhance IOL also offers a wide range of sight and is an alternative to the standard monofocal IOL.
If you can’t decide between monofocals and a premium IOL, the Eyhance IOL is the perfect marriage of the two that gives you the benefits of both!
With these two new lens options, our cataract patients have more options to choose from, depending on their lifestyle and visual needs after cataract surgery. A New Practice Management System and Electronic Health Records System
Our practice got a lot accomplished in 2021, and top top it all off, we have upgraded to a new practice management and electronic health records system. These new systems will allow our patients to access the patient portal more efficiently and keep track of payments.
We’re also adding kiosks for patients to easily check into our practice and fill out forms with the new system. These kiosks will help our patients save time and cut down on paper filing for a more streamlined, electronic medical record system. The goal is to spend less time checking in and for patients to spend more time with their eye doctor discussing their care.
We expect a smooth transition but would still like to thank our patients for their patience as the new systems are integrated.
