Research & Clinical Trials
Our Medical Director, Rajesh Rajpal, M.D. participated in clinical trials to demonstrate the safety, efficacy and predictability of Laser Eye Surgery for Laser Vision Correction. Dr. Rajpal was the first eye surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area to perform corneal laser eye surgery for common refractive eye problems such as nearsightedness while he served as a Principal Investigator in the clinical trials for FDA approval.
Our doctors are actively involved in ongoing clinical trials for eye care medical devices and pharmaceutical products. By working with major device and pharmaceutical companies we are on the cutting edge of current and future treatment options.
Government Contracting
The federal government has demonstrated its confidence in our organization. Currently, Dr. Rajpal serves as the Cornea Consultant at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Educating Doctors
As educators, we are pleased to be involved in conveying new information and techniques to other eye doctors. Our Medical Director Rajesh Rajpal, M.D. has trained over 2,000 Ophthalmologists nationwide in Laser Vision Correction techniques. In addition to speaking throughout the United States, Dr. Rajpal is a world-renowned speaker, traveling the globe teaching his colleagues the latest treatments and techniques. Recently, he has lectured in Mexico, India, China, and Europe.
Our Optometric Director Christine Wisecarver, OD, FAAO, heads our student externship programs with Salus University School of Optometry and the Inter-American University School of Optometry in Puerto Rico. Through these externship programs, we are able to educate future doctors on all aspects of patient care including professionalism, ethics, clinical skills, and clinical decision making.
