Dr. Soraiya Thura, MD, is a fellowship-trained surgeon at See Clearly Vision who performs cataract surgery and provides comprehensive ophthalmology services. Additionally, she has specialized experience in the management of eye cancer, with a clinical interest in the treatment of anterior segment and ocular surface tumors.
Dr. Thura received her medical degree from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. She completed Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she was selected as the program’s First Chief Resident. Dr. Thura then went on to complete her Ocular Oncology Fellowship from the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. This was followed by a second fellowship in refractive cataract surgery with Dr. Scott LaBorwit at Select Eye Care in Elkridge, MD.
Dr. Thura has been involved in several research presentations and publications, as well as many community organizations throughout her educational and practical career thus far. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
